I did a little bit of cross stitch last night and this morning. Very little. So little I got out my macro lens to try and get a nice picture of it. Here it is with my regular lens (and my lens cap for scale):
Cute yes? It's for an Easter card. I came across the bunny pattern when I was hunting around for something else in my sewing room and thought "Why not." I never measured the linen to see if it was 28 or 32 count; it was a scrap in the right colour and about the right size. I worked a single thread of floss (#1316 "Mulberry" by Weeks Dye Works for the curious) over single threads in the linen. It was so small that it was actually easier to work with my glasses off. I'm near sighted and can see things much closer-up when I'm looking all by myself. I love the way these threads make washes of colour across your work. I think it kind of wakes up flat areas.
