I got my first ‘big’ camera last weekend. Something about using a viewfinder instead of the LCD screen makes me feel so much more like a photographer. I’ve been reading my way through the manual (and forgetting most of it) and taking pictures of Abby, Rob and my plants all week. I’ll still be using my little orange point-and-shoot when I'm out and about. It fits in my pocket and takes nice pictures but my D90 will be the camera I grab at home and for outings and family gatherings. Right now I’m just using the lens it came with and learning what it will and won’t do. I think the next thing I save up for will be a macro lens so I can take some really big pictures of really tiny things. I find that just magical. I also have plans to try making a bokeh filter or two to play with the Christmas lights this year.

- This is the coolest lego things I've ever seen.
- There seems to be something wrong with the comments form on my site at the moment: I'm getting a lot of spam but at least one legitimate person couldn't leave a comment. We're working on it.
