I am so anxious for spring to arrive. I'm trying my best to be patient but I am just so tired of snow and cold and wearing the same stuff everyday. I know spring is coming - last week I saw a Whisky Jack outside my window and I know they do not stay here for the winter - but I feel the need to hurry things along. I'm planning some spring projects. Lovely things too impractical for winter (here anyway).
I got Denyse Schmidt Quilts* in the mail last week and have decided to make the scarf and muff . They'll look so nice with my black (spring) coat and the muff means I'll be able to put away my mittens just a little bit earlier this year. And really - a muff - how could I resist? I've always wanted a muff - they're so pretty and lady like. I think we should start a movement and bring them back.
I also stumbled across this little purse pattern - The Buttercup Purse. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need to make it. It's so cute and summery; just the thing to go with cute outfits and sweet little shoes. I'm not certain if I could use a muff and a purse at the same time but that's okay. They'll both get their chances to go out.
* I should probably say something about how lovely all the quilts are in Denyse's book and how I'm planning on making several of them and how much I love her use of solids with just a few pretty prints but truthfully, for all the other good stuff in that book, I've been craving it since I found out she had a muff pattern. A muff!
