10 Moments in JunePosted by: Peanut on Jul 10, 2019 |

I’m cheating a bit here. This little quilt for my nephew was finished in May, but it didn’t get mailed until June so I decided it counts. Though it took me much longer than I’d planned, this quilt was a lot of fun to make and I love the way it came out. The back is a soft cotton flannel in an alphabet print.
Sisters.
I was sick and Rob surprised me with flowers.
I made matching pants for my kids. I don’t know why but I find this urge almost impossible to resist once I notice I have enough fabric. I used the harem pants pattern from Made by Jack’s Mum (I love her company name and have several more of her patterns on my “to make” list). I left the cuffs off Maisie’s because she doesn’t like cuffs.
My little gardener. I tried to pick just one of these pictures but couldn’t choose between the two.
We ate dinner outside. Lily found it quite novel to be on the deck in her high chair. Abby was ever present (as per usual).
Our dinner was a series of mini, experimental burgers made by Rob. We tried all sorts of fun combinations. All were yummy. Rob is wonderful at combining flavours in ways I would never think of.
I slowly got the garden in. It feels good to play in dirt, see flowers and shoots, and look forward to eating our own produce.
We did a little home renovation. Rob removed an annoyingly useless shelf that separated our kitchen and family room and set up a craft space for Maisie - complete with a chalkboard wall and pegboard. It’s amazing what a difference it makes to the feel of both rooms.
Maisie made a card and picked a little bouquet of flowers for her teacher on her last day of school. It’s hard to believe she’s finished kindergarten but she’s grown so big and independent it’s almost as hard to remember how different she was last September.
