In an effort to help combat the February greys I'm participating in Yellow Week, hosted by Erin of House on Hill Road (I highly recommend taking a look to see what other people are doing). These are some tulips we picked out at the grocery store on Saturday. I love the way they've opened up. We've got them sitting in the middle of the kitchen table where they are easy to see as we go about our everyday things. There is another view of them (from the night before - not quite so open) in my 365 set on Flickr.

The sun was coming in and I had to follow it around the house. It's so warm and cheerful.

I've been enjoying a new photo blog called habit. It's full of beautiful images of everyday things.

I've decided to give myself a photography challenge this year by joining a 365 group on Flickr. I've been finding myself more and more interested in taking pictures - framing, lighting, etc. - and thought a challenge like this would help me think this way on a regular basis. I'm storing my pictures in their own set to make them easy to find.

The picture above is one of my "out takes." I had a picture from yesterday that I liked better but wanted to share this one too. It is a clump of willows just around the corner of my building on my way downtown from work. There is a lamp just behind the little rise in the foreground. I walk past here everyday to meet Rob after work and I always think the illuminated trees look beautiful and surreal.

Now I just need to take today's picture.
