I saw some finger knitted scarves at a Christmas craft fair and had to look up the technique as soon asI got home. I found this article from Knitty. It’s an incredibly simple way of knitting and makes a long skinny loosely knit fabric. I discovered that it goes really quickly too. I made scarf in a few bits of time last Sunday as I was hanging around in our office. I think it probably took me longer to roll the skein into a ball.

The yarn is Pink Mixy by SULI FIBRES. It’s a mix of wool, mohair, silk and quite a bit of sparkle. It looks really neat in the sunshine. The colours are all kind of muted with roses, blues, purples and greys all mixing together - quietly romantic looking. It has a thick and thin bobble texture which suits the loose style of the finger knitting.
I wasn’t quite sure what I would do with a skinny scarf between now and the spring but it’s just right for a little extra warmth around the house or at work. Now I need to use up the rest of the ball. I think I might try some simple mitts to keep my hands warm on cool spring days.

An update on my Easy Mesh Triangle:
I finished the first ball of yarn at a Stitch ‘n’ Bitch on Wednesday and started the second (slightly larger ball). The shawl now reaches just about to my waist (unblocked). I’m not sure how large it will eventually get - I may not use up all my yarn.
