Beginning the Season

So far our advent calendar has directed us to turn on the Christmas lights and eat candy canes.
I'd put up the lights just after Hallowe'en when we had a nice warmish day where I could be outside for a while without my mittens on. After everything thing was up (it's not elaborate or anything) I discovered that half of one string wasn't working. Rob got me a replacement last weekend and I was going to put it up yesterday but when I plugged in the lights to see what I was doing the whole string worked! I shovelled off the porch and went inside to enjoy our lights from inside.
The candy canes were so wonderfully Christmasy. I don't think I've every enjoyed one so much.
