Maisie has discovered the joy of garden fresh peas. She likes to go out onto the deck with me and will ask me to pick a pod for her. I'll open it up and she'll sit down on the bottom step of her slide (an awesome freebee I grabbed a few weeks ago) and carefully pull out the peas and eat them. Empty pods are placed in a spare planting tin. Plenty of peas have fallen down the cracks in the deck but Maisie does her best not to let too many get away. I couldn't find any ripe peas on the plants this afternoon but we've got a few pods just getting started and lots of new blossoms so I think there will be more peas to eat before the end of the summer.
