November kind of snuck up on me this year. It's not so much that I was surprised when it arrived. I just sort of felt like there aught to have been another week of October around somewhere. But here we are on the fifth and this evening was the first day this week I've had a chance to work on my October dress or share my Hallowe'en costume with you guys.

It's the end of Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada. Holiday Mondays are so nice - especially when you're already finished with the big meal and all you need to do is put the remaining bones in a pot with some onion and celery and let it simmer away. Other parts of Canada may have had crisp, sunny fall weather for their day off; we got a chilly, damp, blustery day that made me glad to not have to leave the house. I saw some pictures of pysanky on Thursday and remembered that I had a few jars of dye around from years ago. I wasn't totally sure they'd still be good but decided I would give them a try anyway. It was a lot of fun to spend my afternoon drawing on eggs and watching them change colour. I got kind of messy but that gardener's scrub was great for getting the dye out of my fingers. I...

I hope you've all had a nice long weekend. I had loads of fun yesterday sewing some things for this year's Easter display. We were having cupcakes today (for my birthday) so we didn't have a lot of candy but I still wanted to do a cute set up.
