Two lovely packages arrived just after I got home this evening (and after I'd checked our empty-for-the-fourth-day-in-a-row mailbox). I've been eagerly waiting for both of these packages so it was especially fun to have them arrive together.
<b...

Owls and The Small Fox

I finally got all the eyes sewn onto my owls and hung them up in the living room just after Christmas (I'm the type that leaves the tree up as long as possible - it's so cheery). There are all sorts of fabrics making up these owls - wools and blends, corduroys, even a v...

It's being organized by the Small Fox and I signed up a little over a month a go. I spent a little bit of each day last week getting my ornaments made and photographed before sending them off. Each person in the swap makes and sends ten ornaments and gets ten different ones back.

I decided to make Moonstitche's Zakka Style ...

Rob's Spicy Corn Soup

As part of the Spring Sassy Apron Swap each swapper had to include a family soup recipe along with the apron sent to her partner. We only had one family recipe when I entered the swap - a tasty Asian style noodle soup featuring rare steak and vegetables. I had a bit of a problem when I got my swap partner though - she was vegan and I just couldn't send her a soup recipe where the first inst...

Spring Swap Apron

I received my swap apron on Friday. It's so cute and so springy. Included with it was a recipe for Chicken and Wild Rise Soup that we'll be making up as soon as we can gather up all the ingredients. There was also a card of three big vintage buttons. These were extra cool since I had been thinking just that afternoon that I really needed some nice big buttons for my button box - now I have some!

Here's the front:
<img src="http://inapeanutshell.com/images/63/DSCN5774....

A Spring Apron

I put the apron I made into the mail today. It was a lot of fun to make and turned out so cute I might have to make another for myself. I used the pattern from Simple Sewing by Lotta Jansdotter. It's a reversible apron so I put pockets on both sides. I also made the side ties much wider than called for in the pattern so that they'd make a nice bow in the back. Here a...
